Show Begins in

Square Foot Show began as a small, annual art party at Julia Veenstra’s studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada—each piece just 12×12 and at a single price. Since 2020, it has exploded into an online “Black Friday of art,” with collectors and artists spanning the globe and many artists selling out in just minutes. We love nothing more than connecting thousands of collectors from across the world with incredible artwork from artists they might never otherwise encounter, all through our fun and fast-paced virtual shows.

The fun continues with November’s annual “Julia Veenstra & Friends” show, featuring a roster of 46 incredible artists selected by Julia Veenstra herself. Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month for 24 hours, these shows bring bold, curated collections to life in an exciting and fast-paced format. We recognize that current events make multi-national events like this complicated. An artist from an early age, 🇨🇦 Meghan Irvine (@meghanirvineart) went on to study visual art at university and graduated with an honours degree. After spending some years as a teacher, she made the decision to further pursue her passion for art and focus on painting and being a mom. Living in Muskoka, Meghan is surrounded by the trees and water that influence so much of her work. Meghan says: “Whenever I’m outside, I always have my camera with me, ready for those beautiful moments when light shines through the trees, or catches the waves on the lake. It’s these brief moments that I try to capture in my work - the ones that connect us to both the stability and fleeting nature of the world around us, and that make us catch our breath if we are only present to see them. 🇨🇦 Megan Parker (@meganparker_artist) is a self-taught visual artist from Canmore, Alberta, whose work is deeply rooted in her connection to the mountains. For Megan, stepping into the forest and surrounding herself with mountains is a raw, humbling, and deeply moving experience—one that continually reminds her to slow down and be present. Working primarily in acrylic paint, she uses bold, flowing lines and expressive brushstrokes to capture the movement and energy of the landscape, bringing the mountains to life on canvas. 🇨🇦 Maureen McNeil (@momcneil) is a self-taught Canadian contemporary landscape artist based in Perth, Ontario. Growing up on a farm surrounded by trees, with an artist for a mother, Maureen developed an early connection to nature and creativity. Her bold, expressive paintings are inspired by Canada’s lakes, forests and rocky shorelines. Rather than simply reproducing a scene, Maureen paints from memory, imagination and feeling, using energetic brushwork and colour to create her distinctive style. Her work has been exhibited and collected across Canada, and she has completed numerous private and public commissions. Maureen has also donated her artwork to hospitals, hospices and charitable organizations and has taught art to both children and adults. 🇨🇦 Muskoka-based contemporary artist Margot Roi (@margotroiart) finds inspiration in the transitional forms of nature. She creates abstracted landscapes to act as markers, reflecting a memory-of-place narrative that combines both lived and travelled experiences. With her intuitive, layered brush and stick media explorations, emotional bridges are linked to capture a further sense of identity. Roi views these acrylic paintings as guideposts inviting viewers to wander through her compositions, connecting to their own recollections.
