🇨🇦 Sharon Wadsworth-Smith (@sharonwadsworthsmith) lives at Crooked Lake on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The constant influences of lakes, oceans, and rocky shores have infused her painting with the textures and the colours of the coast. She says: “I prefer to express my acrylic paintings with loose brush strokes and palette knife work. It’s wonderful to paint what you see, but much more exciting to paint what you feel.”

Sharon is a regular painter with the Lunenburg County Plein Air Painters, so you may see her painting along the local beaches and picturesque destinations in the area.
In 2021, she completed a commission project of 32 unique paintings for the Muir Hotel in Halifax. She participated in the juried 2022 and 2024 PIPAF festival in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, and paints in several festivals, including Peggy’s Cove and The Lunenburg Arts Fest (2023). She has also been involved in several shows and festivals in the area, including Peggy's Cove, Chester, Lunenburg, La Have, Port Medway, and Annapolis Royal.

To see more of Sharon's work, you can visit her at the new Gallery on Lincoln in Lunenburg and the Lunenburg Art Gallery.

🇨🇦 Julia Veenstra (@jveenstraartist) is a renowned Canadian artist and entrepreneur known for her lively composition and vibrant use of colour. Having lived in various countries throughout her life, Julia incorporates diverse influences into her impressionistic and representational style—it’s no surprise, then, that her work is found in collections across the globe. She chooses acrylic as her medium of expression due to its immediacy and the ability to create bright and vivid colours.

Julia’s artistic journey has led her to focus on capturing the vivid landscapes of her native Canada, for which she has gained national recognition, including a feature on the coveted Royal Winter Fair poster. As an entrepreneur, she’s made a significant impact on thousands of artists and collectors worldwide through initiatives like Square Foot Show, Artlabel, and her new gallery, Crown and Press. You can often find Julia in her studio, a converted garage, at her home on Beach Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada!

🇨🇦 Dylan Swan (@dylanswansart) is a Canadian painter living on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, where he’s clearing land and building a home in the middle of a forest—one brushstroke and mosquito bite at a time. His work explores the quiet places where people and landscapes meet, increasingly shaped by life on the Atlantic coast (and the sound of distant chainsaws).

At the heart of Dylan’s practice is a search for connection—between memory and place, solitude and community, the seen and the felt. His paintings begin in quiet observation, grounded in the rhythms of ordinary life: the flicker of conversation, the way light pools on a café table, the shifting geometry of streets or shorelines. For Dylan, painting is both meditative and relational—a way of being present with the world, and later, offering something back to it.

Though much of his earlier work reflects a deep history with urban life, Dylan’s recent move to Nova Scotia has opened a new chapter—one where salt air, wild undergrowth, and unpredictable weather are beginning to shape the tone and tempo of his practice (along with a growing respect for rubber boots and bug spray). His style blends expressive mark-making with subtle narrative—inviting viewers into a shared space of recognition, memory, and belonging.

He is represented by the Crown and Press Gallery, and his work is held in private collections across Canada.
