Show Begins in

Square Foot Show began as a small, annual art party at Julia Veenstra’s studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada—each piece just 12×12 and at a single price. Since 2020, it has exploded into an online “Black Friday of art,” with collectors and artists spanning the globe and many artists selling out in just minutes. We love nothing more than connecting thousands of collectors from across the world with incredible artwork from artists they might never otherwise encounter, all through our fun and fast-paced virtual shows.

The fun continues with May’s show “Awaken” featuring Dionne Woods and a roster of 27 incredible artists selected by Dionne and our jury of artists and collectors. Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month for 24 hours, these shows bring bold, curated collections to life in an exciting and fast-paced format. We recognize that current events make multi-national events like this complicated. To help bring clarity, we’ve increased transparency around the origin of artwork and have written a brief letter on cross-border challenges.

Julia Veenstra
Friends, we have an exciting offer for you this summer from our co-founder, Julia Veenstra.

You know Julia Veenstra’s paintings. You may have bought one. What you haven’t seen is how she turned a painting practice into a business that actually sustains it.

The Business of Art with Julia Veenstra is six sessions drawn from the real decisions, mistakes, and systems that got her here:

Brand & Voice — finding the through-line that makes your work recognizably yours

The Discipline of Art — the habits that keep you producing when motivation runs out

Galleries & Shows — how representation and live shows actually work, and how to get into both

Online Sales & Prints — building income that doesn’t depend on you being in the room

Entrepreneurship and the Arts — running the business side without losing the art

Going Full Time — what it takes to make the leap, and when you’re ready

You’ll also get a bonus interview with a working gallery owner, plus access to a lively mastermind group of artists building alongside you.

Through August 31: $197 → $97. You save $100.

That’s all six sessions, the bonus interview, and the mastermind, for the summer rate.

🇺🇸 Haley Combs (@haleycombsart) says: "Hi, I’m Haley. I’m a mom and a professional artist. I love to paint landscapes, botanicals, and animals. I’m inspired by places I’ve lived. Recently, I've been based in Bluffton, SC, a small coastal town. I’m currently based in the Appalachian Mountains. I’m inspired by bright colors. With all my paintings, I want you to feel how those places made me feel and love them the way I do."

🇨🇦 Ruolin Shi (@ruolin_rock) began painting in 2020 during maternity leave, finding joy and connection through art in the midst of COVID lockdowns. Her work combines vibrant colors with contemporary, geometric lines, influenced by her background as an engineer, offering a fresh take on Western Canadian landscapes.

Using acrylic as her primary medium, Ruolin explores the balance between technical detail and expressive freedom. This is reflected in her paintings, where design and clean lines merge with nature.

🇨🇦 Brenda McCafferty (@b.mccaffertyart) is a self-taught, loosely representational artist based in Hamilton, Ontario. She has been drawn to visual art since early childhood but committed to the discipline in mid-life.

Brenda has exhibited widely across Southern Ontario. Her work has been well received in multiple juried gallery shows and online gallery exhibitions (apart from her own website). She has been a featured artist in several galleries and participated in live-painting and artist talks. Brenda was happy to become a finalist for a juried competition in support of Alzheimer’s Research.

Brenda’s work has also been featured at fundraising shows and annual outdoor (juried) exhibitions around the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area. Her work can be seen in the Crown & Press gallery in Hamilton and the Donna Child gallery in Etobicoke.
