Show Begins in

Square Foot Show began as a small, annual art party at Julia Veenstra’s studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada—each piece just 12×12 and at a single price. Since 2020, it has exploded into an online “Black Friday of art,” with collectors and artists spanning the globe and many artists selling out in just minutes. We love nothing more than connecting thousands of collectors from across the world with incredible artwork from artists they might never otherwise encounter, all through our fun and fast-paced virtual shows.

The fun continues with September’s show “Autumn” featuring a roster of 39 incredible artists selected by our jury of artists and collectors. Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month for 24 hours, these shows bring bold, curated collections to life in an exciting and fast-paced format. We recognize that current events make multi-national events like this complicated. To help bring clarity, we’ve increased transparency around the origin of artwork and have written a letter outlining the impact of tariffs on artists and collectors. Read the letter on Tariffs.

🇨🇦 Courtney LeBaron (@courtneylebaronstudio) is a full-time painter with a professional background in commercial interior design. Her practice is deeply informed by an understanding of how people experience space, light, materiality, and emotion within both the built environment and outdoors. Through her work, she explores the belief that art is an essential part of our collective human experience: tactile, emotional, meaningful, and aesthetic. It breathes life into the spaces we inhabit.

Courtney’s transition from interior design to a full-time studio practice reflects a natural evolution of her creative career. Her design training cultivated a strong foundation in composition, colour theory, scale, and spatial awareness, all of which continue to influence her painting practice. This interdisciplinary perspective has led to corporate commissions with the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Teknion Furniture, Melcor Developments, McLennan Ross, Kasian Architecture, as well as works held in several private collections. Her artwork has been exhibited in Calgary at the curated Pink Door Show and Franz Dopf Gallery and is collected internationally.

🇨🇦 🇵🇭 Cobie Cruz (@cobiecruzart) was born in Manila, Philippines, in 1961, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Advertising, from the University of Santo Tomas. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the Philippines, Singapore, Canada, and the United States. His exhibition history includes presentations at Finale Art Gallery and West Gallery in the Philippines, as well as more recent group exhibitions at Drew Marc Gallery in Florida and Earls Court Gallery in Hamilton, Ontario.

Cobie says: "I begin on a blank canvas without a preconception of the final outcome. I allow things to develop according to my thoughts, feelings and moods and how these shift and change as my painting begins to unfold.

I don't start with a colour order, but find the colours as I go. The whole business of spotting the small areas of color in the canvas, how the edges meet, how accidents are controlled, all these things fascinate me.

The colours in my paintings are juxtaposed to support and contrast. They are chosen to evoke thoughts and emotions.

I don’t fear change throughout the process. Images are often altered, destroyed, erased and even returned as I feel my way to the best way to bring a painting to life. I call this stage in my process – “push and pull”. My challenge is to constantly push myself and test the limits of my imagination in the hope of creating impressions that are distinctly mine."

🇨🇦 Chris Warburton Hulme (@cwhulmeart) is an acrylics and mixed media artist living her best art life on the East Coast of Canada in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia. She had a sudden urge to slap globs of paint onto paper in 2021 and has since made a lot messes, finding her own voice in art. As a late in life diagnosed autistic woman, art allows her to express what she finds difficult to articulate in the spoken word.

Chris’ work is colourful, quirky, sometimes sentimental, and often cheeky! Her art almost always has a story behind it and frequently draws on her own life experiences. This includes a passion for women's empowerment with a personal connection to those who have experienced gender-based violence. She infuses her art with powerful and fun feminism.

Chris creates her vibrant mixed media art using acrylic paint, original hand-painted collage papers, hand-drawn images, art collage paper, and carefully curated public domain images.

Her studio is her dining room. Her family never eats in the dining room anyway. Her favourite colour is pink.

🇨🇦 Cheryl Stanley (@cherylstanleycreates) says: "I'm Cheryl, a creative soul who loves nothing more than finding beauty in the ordinary and imperfect world around me. My paintings are a record of life and memory. Working in acrylic, I paint moments that feel both familiar and timeless.

From a young age, a paintbrush or crayon was rarely out of reach, and that creative energy has flowed through every chapter of my life. Now an “empty-nester”, I have the chance to experiment and explore more fully. I travel often between our home in Stratford, Ontario and our place on the east coast of New Brunswick which both provide unique inspiration to my practice.

I am proud to be a part of the wonderful art community on Stratford, Ontario and my works have been found at the Matilda Swanson Gallery, Stratford’s ArtMkt and along the banks of the Avon river as a member of Stratford’s Art in the Park. I also love to welcoming people into mty studio for art classes on occasion. All proceeds from the sale of my artare donated to organizations supporting food security for children and youth, including local food banks and school nutrition programs."
